The Charter

Private Plane Miami to Florida Keys

A charter is not a ticket. You are not buying a seat next to strangers, you are booking the aircraft. That one difference decides everything about the day: who is on board, what hour it leaves, and which end of the island chain it puts you down at.

The Keys are not one place. They are a line of islands that runs for more than a hundred miles, and the piece you are going to sits somewhere along it. A schedule cannot care about that.

It lands where it lands and the rest of the distance becomes a drive. A charter can, because the aircraft is held for your party and nobody else has a say in where it stops.

Everything between the two ends is ours: the departure point in Miami, the aircraft and the crew, the slot at the far end, and the car or the cart standing there when the door opens. Your party brings a bag and turns up shortly before the boarding time rather than hours ahead of it.

This is the whole chain on one page. Key West, Marathon, Islamorada and Key Largo each have their own, and the same aircraft flies the rest of South Florida too.

How It Works

How a Private Plane to Florida Keys from Miami Actually Works

Six things change the moment the aircraft belongs to one party for the day, and none of them are about the aircraft itself.

Plan Your Florida Keys Charter

The Manifest

The passenger list is written by you and nobody adds to it

A charter carries the people you name and no one else. There is no seat map to be assigned around, no stranger in the row behind, and no reason to arrive early to hold anything.

It also means the party can change up to the day before: a name added, a name dropped, a child who turns out to be coming after all. We update the list and the flight is the same flight.

The Landing Site

You say which end of the chain the day starts at

This is the decision a schedule takes away from you. The islands run more than a hundred miles from the mainland down to Key West, and the difference between landing at the top of that line and landing at the bottom is most of an afternoon in a car.

Tell us the house, the marina or the restaurant and we work backwards from it to the nearest field, rather than starting from where an airline happens to fly.

The Clock

The departure time is a decision rather than a listing

Scheduled service leaves when it leaves. A charter leaves when you want it to, inside daylight and inside what the crew is legally allowed to fly. That is why a same day return from the Keys works at all: you are back before the evening traffic rather than waiting on the next available departure. If the morning slips, the aircraft waits, because it has nowhere else to be.

The Terminal

You walk out of a private terminal, not through an airport

Both ends of this route are general aviation. In Florida you park, walk to the aircraft and go, from whichever departure point suits your morning. At the far end the aircraft parks on the ramp and the walk is from the steps to the car. There is no terminal to cross, no queue to join, and nothing for your party to carry further than the door.

The Return

The way home belongs to you in the same way the way out does

A return leg on a scheduled service is the hour somebody else published. On a charter it is the hour you name on the morning, and it can move again while you are still on the island. That is what turns a crossing into a day rather than a schedule to work backwards from: lunch can run long, the boat can come back late, and the aircraft is still there.

The Weather

Weather is the one thing a charter does not make more flexible

Everything else on this page bends. Weather does not, and we would rather move a day than fly it badly. You hear from us as early as we know, and the flight is rebooked rather than flown. Because the aircraft was held for your party and nobody else, moving it is a conversation and not a queue for the next available seat.

Departure Points

Departure Points for a Private Plane Charter from Miami to Florida Keys

The aircraft is booked for your party alone, so the departure point is yours to pick rather than something a timetable decides. These are the four we fly from around Miami. Select one to see exactly where it sits.

Miami Executive

Miami Executive Airport, TMB, Kendall

Kendall-Tamiami in the south west of the county, a general aviation field where the distance from the car to the aircraft is measured in steps. Nobody is waiting on a boarding call, because the only people on the flight are the ones who booked it. It is the shortest drive from the south and west of Miami-Dade.

How to Charter

How to Book Before Flying Private Plane from Miami to Florida Keys

Chartering an aircraft is not booking a seat. There are four steps, and only the first one is yours.

Plan Your Florida Keys Charter
  1. 01

    Contact Us

Write to us on WhatsApp or by email. Send your dates, how many guests, where you are coming from and where in the chain you are actually going. Tell us the hour you would like to leave.

The address of the house or the name of the marina is more useful than the name of an airport: it decides which field the aircraft uses. Tell us the hour you want rather than the one you think is available.

  2. 02

    Get Aircraft and Prices Back

We check what is free on your date and send the aircraft that fit your party. Seats, baggage and flight time for each one. You are pricing the whole airframe rather than a headcount.

  3. 03

    Confirm and Pay

You pick the aircraft, and we set the pickup point and the landing site. Then everything around the flight: catering on board, a golf cart waiting when you land, ground transport onward. You approve it, you pay, and your boarding time and everything included come back to you.

  4. 04

Just Arrive 30 Minutes Before Departure

You will have no terminal and no queue. Just make sure you are there 30 minutes before. Then you take off, land right at your destination, and enjoy the day.

On the Islands

Where a Private Plane Charter to Florida Keys from Miami Puts You Down

The aircraft sets down at the field you named, somewhere along a line of islands that runs more than a hundred miles, and from that moment the day is unscheduled. There is no return departure to work back from and no group to keep together, so what follows is a menu rather than an itinerary.

These are the places parties on this route actually ask for, running from the mainland end of the chain down to the far one.

The Top of the Chain

Closest to the Mainland
A boardwalk with rope railings running out between leaning palms to white sand and clear turquoise shallows

The upper end of the islands begins where the mainland stops, and it is the one stretch where flying is a judgement call rather than an obvious win. On a clear Tuesday the drive is manageable. On a Friday in season, with one lane each way and a bridge for every gap, it is the afternoon.

A charter answers that by landing at the top rather than at the bottom. Ocean Reef keeps its own field behind the gate at the north end of Key Largo, which is private ground and not ours to promise: if that is where you are going, we say at the enquiry whether the day works or whether the nearest public field and a short car ride is the honest answer.

This is the part of the chain where we are most likely to tell you to drive, and we would rather say it before you book than after. The whole Key Largo run has its own page with the detail on it.

In Detail

Private Plane Charter Miami to Florida Keys: One Party, One Aircraft, and the Runway You Name

Everything above is the day. What follows is the detail behind it: who is on board, who does the arranging, why the aircraft goes to the field nearest your address instead of the one an airline serves, and how late the hour can still move on a flight down the Keys.

Room enough and a window each on a Florida Keys private plane

The crossing is not dead time between two airports. The cabin is yours for it, so what is below is part of the day rather than something to sit through. On a private field that is not a formality: the smaller ones down the chain keep their own hours, and knowing which are open when is the difference between a ramp that is expecting you and a gate that is shut. A charter departs where the drive is shortest for your party on the morning, which on a run this short is worth more than it sounds: the flight itself is the small part of the day. Everything between the two ends is ours: the departure point in Miami, the aircraft and the crew, the slot at the far end, and the car or the cart standing there when the door opens. We hold the aircraft, the hour and the extras you asked for; the rest is yours. You are not buying a seat next to strangers, you are booking the aircraft. A charter can, because the aircraft is held for your party and nobody else has a say in where it stops.

Private Plane to Florida Keys from Miami: You Decide the Departure Time

Your hour, your names and a private plane to Florida Keys

Nobody hands you a timetable on a charter. The day is built around the hour you name. You name the hour you want to lift off, the hour you want to be standing on Florida Keys and which water in the city suits your morning. The aircraft belongs to your party for the day, so all three are your decision rather than a departure somebody else set, and a change the week before is a message to us. Half an hour before the lift-off is the whole of the check-in. Your party walks from the car to the aircraft, the bags go on in front of you, and the list for that flight carries your names and nobody else's. Nothing about the morning waits on a stranger. Because the aircraft is yours, the field it leaves from is a choice and not a given. And the crossing is a reason in itself. The windows are deep and the aircraft crosses low, so there is room for everybody to sit and watch the water change instead of taking turns at one of them.

Private Plane Charter from Miami to Florida Keys: Nothing to File, Nothing to Carry

No customs and no check-in desk on a Florida Keys charter

A private plane from Miami to Florida Keys stays inside Florida, so there is no border to clear and no paperwork anybody has to file. The flight never leaves the country, so there is no declaration, no port of entry and no passport check at either end. Your party needs photo identification and nothing more. Everything around the flight is settled from our side before your party arrives, from the slot at both ends to the handling on the ramp. The payload is yours, so the trade between passengers and weight is too, and what you bring is a conversation rather than a policy. The manifest is your list, and nobody is left behind. The cabin is the same the whole way across. Private is not a grade of service. What may travel sits in the baggage guidance. A departure moved by weather runs under the weather and delays policy, and a name added or dropped before the flight is a message to us rather than a problem for you.

Flying Private Plane from Miami to Florida Keys: Milestone Days and Florida Weekends

A day trip, a weekend or something to celebrate on Florida Keys

A private private plane from Miami to Florida Keys is booked when the day is worth marking: a birthday, a proposal, a graduation, a weekend away with the people who matter. The flight is short enough that the occasion, not the travelling, is what the day is about. That is what a private plane from Miami to Florida Keys is for. A charter departs where the drive is shortest for your party on the morning, which on a run this short is worth more than it sounds: the flight itself is the small part of the day. We hold the aircraft, the hour and the extras you asked for; the rest is yours. Some parties fly over for the day and are home the same evening. Others stay on and book the return for the day they want. Both are the same charter, and the whole group travels together on one booking. If there is something to celebrate, say so when you book: catering, a private chef, premium beverages and flowers travel with you. Everything is in place before you board in Miami.

Questions

Private Plane Miami to Florida Keys: Questions Answered

What does chartering a private plane to the Florida Keys actually include?

The aircraft and the crew for your party, the arrangements at both fields, and the ground transport you ask for at either end. You are booking the airframe rather than seats on it, so the price covers the flight whether four people travel or eight.

Catering, a car or a golf cart on arrival and onward transport are added when you ask for them and come back priced with the aircraft.

Which airport in the Keys do we land at?

Whichever one is closest to where you are actually going. That is the decision a charter hands back to you. Key West sits at the bottom of the chain and Marathon in the middle, and there are private fields further up towards Key Largo.

Send us the address of the house, the marina or the restaurant rather than the name of an airport, and we work backwards from it. Where a field is private we say so before you book, because access there is not ours to promise.

Can we choose our own departure time?

Yes, within daylight and within what the crew is allowed to fly. That is the main thing a charter buys you on this route. The hour is set when you confirm and can still be moved afterwards if your day changes, because the aircraft is not going anywhere else and there are no other passengers to inconvenience.

Most parties leave in the morning and come back in the afternoon, but an early departure and a late return are both normal requests rather than exceptions. Tell us the hour you actually want rather than the one you think is on offer.

Is anyone else on the private plane?

No. A charter carries the people you name and nobody else. There is no seat assignment, no other party sharing the cabin, and no risk of the aircraft leaving without part of your group because a connection did not hold.

It also means the passenger list can change up to shortly before the flight: a name added or dropped is an update on our side rather than a rebooking on yours.

Why fly when we could drive down?

Because the drive is the day. The Overseas Highway runs from the mainland to Key West over a hundred miles of two-lane road, and a single accident on a bridge has nowhere to send the traffic. Flying turns that into the short part of the morning.

It matters most at the far end of the chain and least at the top, which is worth saying plainly: for a house in the Upper Keys the drive is sometimes the sensible answer, and we will tell you so.

How early do we need to be at the airport?

About thirty minutes. There is no terminal to cross and no queue to join at either end, because both ends of this route are general aviation. You park, walk to the aircraft and go. The parking, the slot and anything waiting for you on the ground are arranged from our side before you arrive.

Can we change the passenger list after booking?

Yes, up to the day before in most cases. A name added or dropped means we update the manifest, and the flight is otherwise unchanged. Tell us as early as you can, because the weight and balance for the day is what needs the notice, not the aircraft.

Can we stop at more than one island in a day?

Often yes. Once the aircraft is yours it can string legs together in whatever order suits the day rather than returning to a base between them. A morning at one end of the chain and an afternoon at the other is a normal request. Send the whole itinerary at the enquiry and it comes back as one day rather than as separate flights.

What about places with no runway at all?

They run on a seaplane instead, which sets down on the water and does not need a field. Dry Tortugas is the clearest case: it lies seventy miles west of Key West and has no road and no strip, so it is reached by boat or by seaplane and nothing else.

Where your address has no runway near it, we say so at the enquiry and quote the seaplane instead of the plane.

What if the weather turns on the day?

The day moves. Weather is the one thing a charter does not make flexible, and we would rather move a flight than fly it badly. You are told as early as we know, and the aircraft is rebooked to a date that works for your party. Because the aircraft was held for you and nobody else, moving it is a conversation rather than a queue for the next available seat.

Is a private charter cheaper than scheduled flights for a group?

It depends on the size of the party and what the day is worth to you. The aircraft costs the same whether it is full or not, so the cost per person falls as the group grows, and a party of six or eight is where the comparison usually turns.

What does not show up in a fare comparison is the hour you get back at each end of the day, and the drive you do not make once you land. Send the date and the headcount and you get real numbers rather than an estimate.

Can the private plane collect us from a marina or a hotel dock?

Not on wheels. A private plane runs airport to airport. If the pickup needs to be a marina, a hotel dock or a beach, the same day runs on a seaplane instead and we can collect you there.

How do we start?

Send the date, the number of guests, where you are leaving from and where in the chain you are going. You get back the aircraft that are free, what each one costs, the boarding time and what is included, and nothing is held until you say so.

If the day has anything else in it, a car at the ramp or a table booked for the afternoon, say so at the same time and it comes back priced alongside the aircraft.

Can I bring a pet on a private plane charter?

Yes, pets travel in the cabin with you. The one thing we ask is that you tell us at the enquiry, with the type of animal and its weight, so the seating and the load plan are right from the start.
