The local fish fry sits directly underneath the bridge that carries you onto the island, in a line of stalls along the water. It is the least polished thing within ten minutes of the resort strip and it is the stop parties ask about most once somebody has mentioned it.

It sits about ten minutes from the resort strip in one direction and roughly the same from downtown Nassau in the other, so it fits either end of the day. Most parties put it on the way back to the aircraft.

Big Major Cay and its swimming pigs lie about eighty two miles south east, with Staniel Cay a few minutes further, and both are among the most asked for add-ons on any Bahamas charter. Once your party is through the desk at Nassau, every leg after it is domestic, and that is the moment an aircraft held for you stops being a way of arriving and becomes a way of moving.

A second hop down the Exumas is a decision at the enquiry rather than a second booking, and it costs the day far less than a boat would. That shape of trip is an island hopping day; a single island and back is a Paradise Island getaway.

The pink sand at Harbour Island is about fifty four miles north of here, which is nothing at all by air and an afternoon by any other means. Parties who came for one island regularly leave having seen two. It works because nothing has to be rebooked to make it happen.
