The city field is the obvious one and it is general aviation only. Airlines moved their schedules north to Fort Myers at the end of the nineties and the last scheduled service down from Miami stopped in 2001, so nothing you can buy a ticket for lands here.
That is worth saying plainly because it changes the comparison. The choice is not charter against a flight. It is charter against a car, or against flying into another city and driving the rest. A party that lands at the city field is already where it wanted to be when the propeller stops.
It is the right field for a day in Naples itself and for anything north of it along the beach. A car is waiting beside the aircraft unless you tell us otherwise.
Marco Island Executive
If the Week Is on Marco
Marco Island has its own field, run by the same county authority, and it is the one parties choose when the house, the boat or the resort is on the island rather than in the city. The logic is the same one that runs through this whole page. Landing north and driving south is a step, and a step is exactly what a charter exists to remove.
If the week is on Marco Island, the aircraft goes to Marco Island. It is also the field to ask about when the day ends on the water, because the run from the apron to the marinas is short. Where the pickup itself has to be a dock, that is a different aircraft.

The smallest of the four sits beside Everglades City, at the western edge of the national park. The town calls itself the stone crab capital of the world and it has the season to back it up: claws come ashore there from the middle of October to the middle of May.

The Quiet One
Immokalee lies inland, in the agricultural country east of Naples. It is one of the biggest tomato-growing areas in the United States and the airport was built for that world rather than for visitors. It is the least obvious of the four and it earns its place for two reasons.
It is the closest field to anything on the eastern side of the county, and it is quiet, which matters when a party wants to arrive without an audience. Both are things a schedule cannot offer at any price. If the day is a ranch, a farm, a shoot or a private house out that way, this is the field to ask for by name.
No Connection in the Middle
What You Are Not Doing
The ordinary way to reach this coast by air is to fly into Southwest Florida International at Fort Myers and drive south. It is roughly thirty-five miles from there to Naples, which is a good three quarters of an hour once the car is collected.
A charter removes the whole middle of that. No connection, no baggage hall, no counter, no car hire desk at the end of it. The aircraft leaves Miami at the hour you chose and stops rolling at the field you chose, and the only thing between the two is the flight.
